Purple is wonderfully peaceful

Purple is wonderful,
I think 45% of everything I own is a shade of purple, violet or lavender. Clothing, accessories, shoes, coat, etc...It is an import part of me, and of course in my crafting! Take a look!
Seriously, you can't go wrong with purple! This card is so peaceful to me. I adore it. I distressed the edges, so it has a loved worn look to it. Thanks for stopping in. Have a peaceful-purple day!

Let the heat come!

Hello all,

It is a toasty 85 degrees outside, but it feels like 90. I was sweating just grabbing the mail at the end of the driveway!

I created two totally different cards today. I had intended to participate in a few challenges, but I couldn't get the creative juices flowing with the sketches that were offered this week, so I made my own.

You can't see the embossed lines that jut out from each corner of the the background. They sort of interrupt the butterfly, but I like the overall look.

Supplies: Stamps: (Background stamp) Happiness: Local King Rubber Stamps, (Butterfly) simple friendship SU!, (Dream) Dreams comes true CTMH. Inks: Distress inks, Wild Honey, Crushed Olive, Tuxedo Black Paper:  Neenah Cardstock. Others: Low Tack masking tape.

This card was fun. I like the black base, and the pop of the purples. I used left over watercolor paper I had from a different project. I colored the background with perfect plum yesterday and gave it a day to dry. The Think paper never warps. (LOVE that!)

I learned how to get the reflection on the bottom of the card. I used a pack of paper wrapped in a clear bag. The bag provides the refection. (cool, huh?) So easy, but it looks great in the photo. I still need to learn how to watermark my photos. Enjoy!

Supplies: Stamps:(flowers) Wildflower Garden - Hero Arts, Believe - Inkadinkado, Ink/Paper - Perfect Plum - SU! Tuxedo Black. Paper:  Neenah Cardstock.

Featured Technique: Mini-cards & digital stamps

Hello everyone,
I am excited for today's post. I have been longing for a set of colored pencils. Many of the blogs I have been following have been posting beautiful flowers using these sharp, eye-catching colors that pop! Well, Michael's had a 40% off sale on all their Derwent Inktense Pencils.
THEN (hang on) there was an additional 40% bonus coupon in their flyer this week. So, a set of 12 pencils was only $12.98. Can you believe it? I drove home as fast as I could and created these adorable mini-cards and played with my pencils. I pulled out my container of gamsol and learned how to blend with my new pencils. I used a digital image that I purchased from here. They have a few more digital stamps that are similar to this one. I just might buy those next....Take a look:
I will add more pictures when my phone decides to cooperate with me. I love the crispness of the pictures it takes, I just can't get them off the phone!

Featured Flower: Agapanthus cards

Hello again, I believe I have used this stamp the most out of all my stamps. It it just perfect for so many cards. This first card features a stamp by stampendous - Agapanthus Long. Although the second card uses a slightly different stamp - Agapanthus Cluster, I consider this a duo none the less.

Featured Stamp: Happiness by Local King

Like I mentioned before, I have been going CRAZY with my card making during this holiday break. I am in love with this company also. They are actually Canadian, I believe. This beautiful background stamp is from Local King Rubber Stamp. If you go to there site, they will only show you their catalog.(bummer...but it gives to TONS of pictures of their beautiful wildlife stamps that you simply cannot find anywhere else.

Featured Stamp: Butterflies

Happy December!
I was hired by the local school district, so I am pleased to announce that I can stop searching for a home, and I can get back to my passion, Card making! Here is my most recent Duo! I didn't take the time to record all the supplies I used. If you are curious, feel free to contact me, and I will do my best to help.

This butterfly is one of my very first purchases when I began crafting 10 years ago. It is the most versatile, well-loved stamp in my collection. I always run back to it, when I am stuck.  lol! The only markings that tell me where I purchased from is: savvystamps.com. It looks like their site/blog is still up and running!

As you can tell, I love purple, and I used it as a mat for both cards. The pearls and ribbon add a finishing touch.

Featured Stamp: Flower by Purple Daisy Designs

This week's duo features a very elegant daisy stamp that I found at a local stamp convention I attended a few months back. I am kicking myself for not purchasing the other matching stamps that went with this flower. (ohh well, I can't take them ALL home, can I?) This stamp is so versatile, and yet so simple.

In the first card, I used the Just for fun film frame and template. I used tempting turquoise and passion pink (paper too) with staz-on jet back ink.

The second card in the duo uses brilliant blue and glorious green stampin' up ink. Both cards have the true friend stamp from stampin' up. I am not sure which set it is from. Enjoy!
