Simon Says Heart Vent Die and Word Salad

Did you really think I would wait very long before creating something with my new purchases? Nah...
Simon Says Stamp "Heart Vent Die"
I plan to create rainbow colored hearts, but before I could dig out my scraps, I found a very cool patterned paper that I wanted to try out. Here is the result. The stamp is from Paper Smooches, Word Salad. It fits perfectly here. More to come! Enjoy!

2014 Christmas Cards

Hello Everyone,
I know it has been a while. Holidays are coming, and school is coming to an end. I have been card making, and very busy buying cool stuff. (but it all goes under the tree)
Here are some pictures of my creations for gifts this holiday season.

Merry Christmas with a CD as a gift on the inside

Tree die set from Simon Says stamp in a bunch of colors.

I always have a hard time sticking to duplicating one card many times. This year I chose two designs. (One for work, and one for friends and family) I still have many more to create. I am enjoying my time making them, but there is so much going on, that I feel pressured to complete my entire to-do list NOW. (self pressure) I'll get there.

Thanks for dropping by!
Cindy

Christmas Creations on Thanksgiving!

Hello Everyone!
I have been busy enjoying my week off of teaching, and playing with all my new purchases from Simon Says Stamps! I know, it's Thanksgiving, but I have some down time until all the cooking starts. And believe me, after company leaves, I'll be creating more! Take a look at my newest creations:
Are they cute? I found this digital stamp here.  Using my copic markers I made him blue, and her pink! Matted with Pink cardstock on a black card.
This is one of my newest purchases from Simon Says. It has a stamp, die set, and a stencil that match! Look here. the sentiment is from Hero Arts - CL540. I used some glitter paper and outlined the pieces with a black marker.
I pulled out a favorite background stamp from Hero Arts. I heat embossed it with gold powder. I applied three distress inks with a blender pad, and added a die cut from Wplus9. and don't forget the fiber.
I pulled out a favorite background stamp from Hero Arts again with white embossing powder, and added the sentiment from Simon Says.

The sentiment from the same set: Simon Says.

I am having so much fun re-arranging my craft room, and playing with my new purchases. (Don't tell my husband) but Santa has placed two more orders for Cindy's stamping Obsession. But they will be under the tree for Christmas from the kids.

Here it is! My HUGE Simon Says Stamp Order!

Here it is! Here is the order I mentioned earlier in the week. I got an unexpected bonus from my excellent evaluations and I splurged on a Simon Says Stamp Order! I have to put in a disclaimer here. I NEVER order this much stuff! I never have! I watch these videos on YOUTUBE that goes on for 20 minutes about all these products that people purchase. All I get out of those is a sense of utter jealously! I say to myself" Man, It would be nice if I could afford all those items in one huge order."

Well here I am! I got the chance! I LOVE Simon Says Stamps. Very well packaged, and came very quickly! I am very pleased. Take a look:
Quikstik, Wink of Stella Clear, & Penny Black Love and Joy set

SSS snow stencil, SSS star stencil, Wplus9 Hand Snowflake Backdrop, SSS Layered Trees stamp, stencil and die

4 Holiday SSS stamp sets and two large word dies!

Hero Arts Message with Flourish, Paper Smooches Word Salad, Wplus9 Hand Lettered Holiday
stamp & die and some clear sequins

I am so excited to get to use all these products. I still feel a bit guilty, but I know I deserve it. I work hard at my job, and I deserve to treat myself once in a while. Keep you eye out for these items in my upcoming cards! Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Veteran's Day!

Being a teacher has its perks. Getting a Tuesday off is one of them! I have been organizing and prepping my craft room for the holidays! I ran across this adorable stamp and enjoyed these cards with my copics. This stamp set is from Stampendous, entitled Snowman Flurry, (2010)

Clean & Simple Stamping Card Challenge:307

I joined the card challenge at Clean & Simple Stamping this week. This card has a bunch of techniques built into it. (Watercoloring, die cutting and embossing, and painting with distress inks) Not to forget the fiber and the framelit! Take a look. Here is the sketch I drew the idea from:
Take a look around while your here. I would love a comment or two. It would make my day!

Hello! Simon Says Die cuts

Good afternoon!
I have had a busy week with teaching, and did not get a chance to post my cards! I LOVE the way they came out.

I purchased the hello die from Simon Says stamps after seeing everyone making fabulous creations with it. I pulled out patterned papers that I received in my monthly kits from SSS. I know the balls in this paper simply look like circles, but if you look closely, they are lanterns attached on strings. i Popped the "hello" with three layers beneath it to give it dimension. I love this look.

This paper came from SSS in a card set. The paper gets darker at the bottom and had a sun at the top. If you look closely you can see the sun rays peeking at the top! I hated having to cut it down for the card, but I love the effect! I wanted more lift, so I popped it up with 6 layers beneath for more drama.

Featured Product: Simon Says Stamps' die: Hello!

Hey there,
I had time to play around with the "hello" die  I purchased from Simon Says Stamps. That site is very addicting! It has everything and more. I love just playing around and seeing what emerges from my craft room. Here's some of my creations before I made cards with them.
Judi Kins "Psychedelic" embossing powder
I clear embossed it twice, then embossed a third time with JudiKins "Psychedelic" embossing powder! WOW! Can you see the colors! Beautiful!
Judi Kins "Psychedelic" embossing powder
I was so in love with the colors I embossed other sentiments I had leftover from past cards. I must use this embossing powder more often!

I created a full sheet of these butterflies and then cut them up and made front panels with them.

Then I die cut the Hello, and inserted the beautiful Hello from above! WOW, just as I envisioned. I love it!I think I will be making a few more of these! Stay posted!

Duos: Summer goes too fast!

Hey everyone!
I am not going to bore you with how busy I have been, and how I have not been able to spend time in my craft room until the END of my summer. As much as I love card making, and crafting, there are other items that must have my attention so that I can craft. Anywho....

I made a vow to accomplish 3 craft items this summer. (Only three, you are thinking?) Wait until you hear these.....BIG!

Item 1: I will RE-CREATE  my Christmas list. Somehow my digital Christmas database went POOF! Granted, I only had 20-25 names in it, but still. I texted, called, left messages, and face-booked everyone I needed to track down and asked them for their current address. Why you ask? I am going to make handmade Christmas cards this summer, and have them ready to mail to everyone in my database! (I told you....BIG)

Item 2: I will  CREATE (from my Christmas list) a BIRTHDAY list! I took only relatives, and dear friends off the Christmas list, and created a birthday list with addresses and dates. (not the year, silly) Why you ask? I am going to make handmade birthday cards for everyone for the next 12 months, seal, stamp and have them ready to go with the date on them, so to mail them out a week early!

Item 3: I want to create EXTRA birthday cards to pass on to our school based SUNSHINE committee so that every Sunshine committee member gets a hand made card this year! (I can dream, right). How many teachers join the Sunshine committee? About 50.

Status:
  • I am missing 2-3 people on my Christmas list, but otherwise, it is DONE!
  • I have completed my birthday list and finished cards for July through December. 1/2 DONE!
  • I have a handful of Extra birthday cards started, which I am sharing with you here. 1/2 DONE!
Pretty good, and school starts up again in three weeks!

On to the cards. Disclaimer: I am having a tough time with picture taking. I tried these photos 3 times. with two different cameras. (my phone, and my 6 year old stand alone) So please bear with me. These pictures are not my best, but I can't seem to get better shots right now.

I need to make more masculine birthday cards. I always gravitate to girly - pretty cards. So I went surfing for masculine cards, and came across this digital stamp set. I LOVE this chick! He came with a bunch of sentiments that go along with the stamp. I used the same one here twice. The site is called: From the heart digital Stamps. I purchased a few other ones too, as you will see. I am book marking this site for sure!

Duo Set Two:

Again, this masculine card digital stamp is created by From the heart digital Stamps. I don't know if you can see, but the foam is puff paint, and the glass is shiny. Although I used beer, you can make it kid-friendly and call it root beer! (lol)

Duo Set Three:

Ok, these are a set of three cards, not a duo, but I am SO EXCITED about this, and I will tell you why! I splurged and bought a subscription to A CARD MAKING KIT subscription. For a monthly fee, a BRAND new set of stamps and materials with matching accessories comes to my door from SIMON SAYS STAMPS. (I love them). These cards are from the AUGUST kit. (it comes mid-July) and I created these adorable cards from the kit. I even had to purchase new copic markers to get the cones just right. (I had no browns in my collection of 10 markers) I love the way they POP and the bright summer colors in the papers.

Thanks for joining me, see you soon!

Happy Thanksgiving Break!

Hello everyone,
Teaching has taken all my time so far this year. I so enjoyed building my blog this past summer, that I wanted to continue it throughout the year. I simply cannot do both. I feel SO guilty for not posting to my blog occasionally, and keeping it up, but my paycheck does come first, and my obsession must come after that.

Anyway, I am on my official Thanksgiving break for a FULL week! I do have a lesson I have to pull together before the week is over, but I would like to start creating my Christmas cards and posting them. I have been scouring the net for ideas and inspiration! I am (for now) totally in love with Simon Says stamps. (I know, it was Penny Black before that, and Hero Arts before that) But I like how my interests and focus changes and refreshes and repeats. I really like the clean and simple look with lots of white space. I didn't before - but I do now.  :) huh, interesting...

I also recently placed an order from a site I found. I had to try it out: cutathome.com. When you sign up for their VIP e-mails, they mail you coupon codes.  I purchased two Spellbinder dies at a fraction of the cost using their 50% off coupon code! I went to Amazon, and the two spellbinder dies I wanted came to $60.00. I came to cutathome.com and my order with shipping was half that! My purchases are on their way! Hopefully they will arrive this week, so I can post them!

In addition, I found the time to make a coupon storage binder using my sewing machine, (NO - I don't sew), scrapbook paper and... page protectors. I want to take pictures and place that up here too, even though it isn't a duo and not even card making! But it is paper crafting and very creative if I do say so myself.

Let me wrap up this picture less post, and get busy, so I can post my creations! Bye for now.
